Swinford AC in conjunction with Swinford Amenity Development Ltd. is in the process of developing a 6 lane 200m track with 100m sprint lanes at Swinford Amenity Park.

The club would like to acknowledge the assistance and support received from the recent sports capital grant, our members, local businesses and individuals and Swinford Amenities Development Ltd.

Ongoing club fundraising activities including Club Lotto, Ireland West ¾ Marathon & 5k and the Spring & Autumn 5k series.

We also have a GoFundMe page created to collect donations towards the track development.

These efforts have enabled us to complete Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the track project. Next up we are raising funds to develop the central area to provide an area to train off-track.

Phase 1 (Completed)
Cleared and levelled a suitable site and created a rudimentary track with drainage, lighting and secure fencing.

Phase 2 (Completed)
Construct a 6 lane 200m track with 100 sprint lanes. This track will have a Bitumen base and a lined synthetic red finish. The centre area will be prepared to take an Astroturf finish.

Phase 3 (In Progress)
Apply Astroturf to the central area and apply suitable finish to surrounding grounds.
